Miss Mackay of the History Department marked Holocaust Memorial Day on Wednesday 27th January by asking her senior class to work on a lesson with the day’s theme ‘Don’t Stand By’. She tells us more:
“We were exploring the theme of this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day which was Don’t Stand By and were thinking about how students of Wick High School can be citizens who stand up and speak out. We considered how Sir Nicholas Winton did this and saved many lives and reflected on why we must ensure that the atrocities of the Holocaust never happen again. Students were asked at the end of the lesson to consider something they felt, thought or would remember after learning about the Holocaust.”
