Katie Mackay, one of our S6 pupils, recently represented Scotland at The Sainsbury School Games as part of the rugby 7s team. Katie took the time to tell us a little more and provide us with some photos from the event:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing in the Sainsbury School Games 2015 as part of the rugby 7s Scotland team. We were up against England who were split into four regions South East, South West, North and Midlands; Wales, who were split into East and West, and Ireland. In total we played five games, drew one, lost three and won our last game against England Midlands 31-10 after which I felt very emotional! I bonded with my teammates over the course of the four days and even after such a short time with them I know that I will miss them very much.
From the opening ceremony on Thursday evening to the closing ceremony on Sunday it was an experience I’ll never forget.”
Congratulations Katie; everyone at Wick High School is proud of your achievement – we are sure that there will be many more to come in the future!
